1st Youth Global Warming Symposium and Workshop

1st Youth Global Warming Symposium and Workshop is an event which organized by students of APU Japan (Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University of Japan). It's a two – days intensive program for some Junior and Senior High School in Jakarta. For two – days first the event was conducted in GIS (Global Islamic School) Senior High School,Jakarta and next after that in 8 Senior High School,Jakarta.

The Main purpose of this program is wants to share the information regarding global warming and climate change into some of students. There are two leaders for organizing this program called as Indonesian and International Leader. Putri Permatasari and Dian Apriyanti are two students college from Gadjah Mada University were selected as an Indonesian Leader for organizing this Symposium.

There were several activities which held on this Symposium:

• Small Lectures on Global Warming,it is a brief presentation about global warming issues and its effect which is conducted by students of APU Japan and NGO's speakers also.

Group Discussion, it is a main agenda for the session because the participants should discuss and make a comprehension regarding the topics which has been given in the lecture before. In this session the participants had an opportunity to exchange their ideas between other participants and APU's students also.

Working on innovative solution, this is a session where the participants should express their idea in inventing a project or it called as an innovative solution to the global warming, especially for implementing in their school. In creating a project, the participants divided into some groups and also the committees gave a scope in creating or inventing the project and for groups whom complied all the criteria would got a reward. The criteria are:

1. Originality

2. Practicality

Creativity

Quality of the presentation

• Signing on Self-commitment and Conference Banner, it is a session where the entire of participant and organizer signed on banner,it was reflected as their commitment to contribute in mitigating global warming.

Cultural exchange activities, this is the last session of 1st Youth Global Warming Symposium and Workshop where the participant had an opportunity to make a convenient interaction between other participants and internationals students also.

Reward, when the symposium runs, the committees would make a sure value for some of participants and groups who's being active in following the symposium. Not only reward but they got certificate and placard also.

This is a brief information about 1st Youth Global Warming Symposium and Workshop. Hopefully, by conducting such an event like this,it could improve our awareness regarding global warming and climate change problem in our surrounding...only do in simply thing but influence to the big one!
